Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis lost his cool minutes before Napoli-Juventus last night, and his rant was shown live on CBS’s pre-match show, but there was a misunderstanding behind his rage.

The Partenopei owner was furious with a camera operator inside the tunnel at the Stadio Maradona on Sunday night, minutes before the Napoli-Juventus kick-off.

As explained by journalist Carlo Tarallo on X, formerly Twitter, De Laurentiis thought the cameraman was working for DAZN and told him to “fu** off.”

ADL repeated: “They must not do it, fu**!” but a few seconds later Napoli Chief Press Officer Guido Baldari told the Napoli owner that the cameraman was working for the club. “It’s not DAZN, it’s ours,” he said.

However, it was not the end of the story as ADL said after the game that Napoli players, directors and staff members would no longer release post-match interviews with DAZN, the domestic Serie A TV right holders until 2029.

De Laurentiis is undoubtedly not a fan of pre-match interviews and TV activities inside dressing rooms before matches as he explained during a press conference this past February.

“A coach should be left alone before a game,” he said.

“Contrary to my colleagues at Lega Serie A, I am against having TV cameras inside the dressing room before games while they [players] may have a ball slipping outside the underwear. What is the spectacle of that moment? Only the stupidity of those who sell things on television.”
