There are several reasons why Bayern Munich have emerged as the new favourites for Genoa defender Radu Dragusin, giving them the advantage over Tottenham Hotspur.

It had seemed like practically a done deal and this is certainly what Spurs thought was the situation, but last night Sportitalia had already started to report that Dragusin was keeping Bayern Munich in the loop.

Now it is suggested by multiple sources including transfer expert Fabrizio Romano that Bayern Munich have improved on the Tottenham offer.

It is reported that while Spurs are proposing €25m plus bonuses and the loan of Djed Spence for €30m overall, Bayern Munich’s total fee goes to €31m and is just cash.

Nonetheless, Genoa are open to accepting either of the two bids and the decision goes down to Dragusin.

According to Sportitalia and Calciomercato.it, Dragusin would favour Bayern Munich and has been keeping in contact with the Germans on the backburner throughout the negotiations with Tottenham.

It is even suggested that Dragusin told his intermediary that his preference was for Bayern Munich last night.

Bayern Munich have a definite fondness for Serie A defenders, as in recent years they snapped up Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus and Napoli centre-back Kim Min-jae.
