Talks between Bologna and Arsenal for Riccardo Calafiori are stalling as, according to Sky Sport Italia, the Rossoblu want at least €50m and a sell-on clause.

Calafiori has agreed personal terms with Arsenal, but the Gunners have yet to shake hands with Bologna over the defender’s transfer fee.

Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio confirms that Bologna’s asking price is €50m, a fee that Arsenal have partially matched with an offer worth €40m plus €10m add-ons.

However, the Rossoblu are working to raise the ‘fixed’ sum and lower the add-ons. At the same time, they want to include a sell-on clause in the deal.

Calafiori’s former club, Basel, retain a percentage between 40% and 50% of Calafiori’s next sale.

At the moment, Arsenal seem unwilling to add a similar clause in the deal for the Bologna defender, but the Gunners remain the favourite club to sign the Italy international this summer.

Calafiori joined Bologna from Basel for just €4m in 2023.
