Multiple reports suggest that talks between Bayern Munich and Brentford for goalkeeper David Raya have broken down and now Arsenal are pushing to sign the Spaniard instead, which has a knock-on effect for Inter and their pursuit of Yann Sommer.

Transfer experts David Ornstein and Fabrizio Romano both claim that Bayern had been pushing to sign Raya as a replacement for Manuel Neuer, who is still suffering with a long-term injury he picked up in the winter.

However, those negotiations are currently “off”, which means that Bayern will once again have to return to the drawing board and come up with new plans for their goalkeeping conundrum.

Until a long-term heir for Neuer is lined up, Bayern are reluctant to let Sommer leave on a permanent deal, as he is by far their most senior goalkeeper currently available.

The situation in Bavaria means that Inter will have to wait a little while longer if they are to bring Sommer in.

It is believed that a deal could eventually be struck between Inter and Bayern for a fee between €4m and €6m.
