Luca Antonini has explained why he decided to leave Milan for Genoa during the summer transfer session.

“There was less and less space for me at Milan,” the defender told Calcissimo. “I wanted to play with more regularity and Genoa seemed like the right opportunity.

“Regrets? I would have liked to stay with the Rossoneri to help them win their second star, but separations happen in life.

Antonini, now 31, featured in just nine games for the Rossoneri during the 2012-13 campaign.

The former Sampdoria player has become a regular at Marassi, seeing as he has one goal in 14 League games so far this term.
