Milan and Roma have discovered their fates in the Europa League knockout play-off round after UEFA’s draw in Nyon.

The Rossoneri finished third in their Champions League group behind Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain, relegating them to the Europa League.

Roma finished second in their Europa League group behind Slavia Prague, meaning they’ll have to face a third-placed Champions League side to reach the Round of 16.

Atalanta topped Group D and will progress directly to the next stage, avoiding the play-off round.

In UEFA’s draw in Nyon today, Milan were matched up with Stade Rennais and Roma have drawn Feyenoord, setting up two difficult do-or-die clashes.

Last season, Roma reached the Europa League final but fell to Sevilla on penalties, whilst Milan lost the Champions League semi-final Derby della Madonnina to rivals Inter.

The Europa League knockout play-offs will take place on February 15 and 22, with the Round of 16 kicking off weeks later on March 7 and 14.

The Europa League final will take place on May 22 at the Dublin Arena.
