According to reports in Italy, Reynolds is close to joining Roma who have offered him a €1.5m-a-year contract.
The 19-year-old was born on June 28, 2001 in Fort Worth, Texas.
He is a product of the Academy of FC Dallas who promoted him to senior team when he was only 15-year-old. He became the youngest player in the club’s history to sign a contract with them.
He had been playing as an attacking left-winger until the age of 18, but he has now been shifted to the right-back position.
He played 17 games between regular season and playoffs in the last MLS campaign, delivering four assists.
“Since the transfer of Reggie Cannon to Boavista earlier this fall, Reynolds has become the unquestioned first choice at right back, starting all but one of the club's final 14 games this year,” the MLS official website reports.
“The teenager is a US youth national teamer and lauded for his crossing ability. A source adds that French club Marseille are also in the mix. MLSsoccer.com and others have reported interest from Juventus, AC Milan and others in recent weeks.”
Paulo Fonseca would use him on the right in Roma’s four-man midfield where Rick Karsdorp, Riccardo Calafiori or Bruno Peres are usually being deployed.
He would become the second American player to join Roma after Michael Bradley in 2012.
