Who is Livano Comenencia: Juventus’ latest summer signing

Juventus have reportedly secured the services of Livano Comenencia from PSV Eindhoven: here’s a profile of the 19-year-old right-back.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Comenencia will join the Old Lady for €1m plus €2m add-ons. He will train and play with the NextGen squad, but first-team coach Massimiliano Allegri will keep a ‘close eye’ on the promising right-back.

Born in Breda, Holland, on February 3, 2004, Comenencia didn’t make his senior PSV debut before signing for Juventus.

He has one goal and two assists in 60 appearances with PSV’s U21 squad and made his debut with the Netherlands’ U20 team this past March.

According to Gazzetta, Juventus had tried to sign Abdoulaye Kamara from Borussia Dortmund, but the Bundesliga side refused to sell the French midfielder for €1m plus performance-related bonuses. Therefore, the Serie A giants then turned their attention to Comenencia.

The 19-year-old can also play as a centre-back or defensive midfielder. He’s a product of PSV Academy having joined the club from TVC Breda in 2012, when he was only eight.

Juventus are expected to confirm his signature over the next two days.
