Born in Beziers, France on January 5 2001, Aké’s contract with Marseille was due to expire in 2024. The Old Lady, however, managed to secure his services in a swap deal with Franco Tongya whose contract was expiring at the end of the season.

Tongya, 18, is a U20 Italy international who had played with Juventus Primavera and Under 23 teams.

He will have his Marseille medical in the coming days, when Aké will be completing his move to Turin.

The 20-year-old will initially join the Under 23 squad but, differently from Tongya, he has already played at a senior level.

Aké joined Marseille in the summer of 2018 from Beziers, one year later he made his senior debut with the Ligue 1 giants coming off the bench in his side’s draw against Rennes.

Akè can either play as an attacking left winger or as a support striker. Right footed, he is 1.77m tall.

He already has 26 appearances with Marseille senior team, four of those came in Champions League games against Olympiakos, Manchester City and Porto who, ironically, are Juventus’ next opponents in Champions League.

Juventus have already acquired several players to strenghten their Under 23 team in January.

Abdoulaye Dabo joined the Old Lady from Nantes, Daniele De Martino moved to Turin from Pro Vercelli while Christopher Lungoyi will join the Bianconeri from FC Lugano next summer.

The Bianconeri have also secured the services of Nicolò Rovella in a swap deal with Manolo Portanova and Elia Petrelli, but the Genoa midfielder will remain out on loan at Marassi until the end of the next campaign.
