Milan are incredibly close to signing Red Star talent Marko Lazetic in a deal worth €5m, but who is the Serbian teenager?

The 18-year-old Serbian forward is a product of Red Star’s youth system, making his first team debut in November 2020 at the age of 16 after rising through the ranks of the youth setup. He joined second tier side Graficar on a six-month loan deal last February and scored four league goals for the club, showing his potential.

Lazetic has been a consistent member of the first team this season, making 14 Super liga Srbije appearances, for a total of 370 minutes. He has scored one goal in that time, developing well and continuing to express his talent.

He is a hard-working, tall and physical centre forward, combing his power and strength with a strong level of stamina. The teenager is described as having a ‘nose for goal’ and he’s considered to be a talent for the future.

Interestingly, Lazetic is the cousin of former Torino and Genoa winger Nikola Lazetic, and the Granata were linked with a move for the teenage forward before Milan swooped in.

  1. He’s played sparingly this season. A young talent for sure, but hasn’t played a great deal of senior, first team football.
