Who are Tottenham’s transfer target mentioned by Conte in meeting with Paratici

Antonio Conte has held a key transfer meeting with Tottenham directors, and some Serie A stars are among Spurs’ targets in January.

The former Inter and Juventus coach expects new signings in the winter transfer window and according to Marca.com, at least two of them come from Serie A.

However, it remains to be seen if Fabio Paratici will manage to meet Conte’s expectations in January when it’s always challenging to sign top players.

Multiple sources have mentioned Milan star Franck Kessié as Tottenham’s primary target in January. The Ivory Coast midfielder won’t sign a contract extension with the Rossoneri, but Milan are unwilling to sell him despite knowing they would earn nothing when the 24-year leaves at the end of the season.

According to Sportmediaset, Spurs offered their out-of-favour midfielder Tanguy Ndombele in a player-plus-cash swap deal to get Kessié, but Milan are not interested in the France midfielder.

According to Marca, Inter defender Stefan de Vrij is also on Conte’s radars. Conte trained De Vrij during his two-year spell with the Nerazzurri.

The defender’s contract at San Siro expires in June 2023 and the Serie A giants are not open to selling him in January. However, a deal is possible at the end of the season when the Dutchman will have only one year left in his contract.

Inter are in talks with Matthias Ginter, who would join the Serie A champions as a free agent in June and could potentially replace De Vrij whose agent Mino Raiola has reportedly been pushing for a move to the Premier League for a few months.

Juventus’ Dejan Kulusevski was a possible target for Spurs, but Juventus are now unwilling to sell as Federico Chiesa has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee injury. Fiorentina‘s Dusan Vlahovic is also unlikely to leave in January.

According to Marca, Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Adama Traore is on Tottenham’s shortlist for January, while Conte expects Hugo Lloris to extend his expiring contract with the club.
