Udinese have hired Andrea Sottil as their new head coach for 2022-23, so only three Serie A clubs have yet to appoint a new boss for the upcoming season.

The ex-defender will replace Gabriele Cioffi at the Dacia Arena after terminating his contract with Serie B side Ascoli. Sottil has signed a contract until June 2023.

Cremonese, Spezia and Verona are now the only Serie A clubs without a coach for the upcoming campaign. Igor Tudor left Stadio Bentegodi in May after an impressive season that saw the Gialloblu set a new record for goals in their history (65).

The former defender was one of the candidates to replace Gian Piero Gasperini at Atlanta, but the 64-year-old has remained in charge of La Dea. Cioffi is now the leading candidate to replace Tudor at Verona.

Cremonese saw Fabio Pecchia leave after gaining promotion from Serie B and are expected to hire former Perugia boss Massimiliano Alvini who would make his Serie A debut next season.

Thiago Motta left Spezia after collecting 36 points in 38 games last season, less than in the previous campaign under Vincenzo Italiano, but still enough to avoid relegation. Luca Gotti and Aurelio is the main candidate to take over at the Stadio Picco.
