Hakan Calhanoglu is the first player to join Inter from Milan since Antonio Cassano in 2012, but many more swapped the Rossoneri shirt with the Nerazzurri one.

The 27-year-old is set to undergo his medical examinations with Inter on Tuesday.

He has reportedly agreed to sign a three-year, €5m-a-year deal with the Nerazzurri, who offered him €1m more than Milan.

Calhanoglu confirms he’s joining Inter: ‘Tomorrow, I’ll sign the contract’

The former Italy striker joined the Nerazzurri in a €5.5m deal one year after winning his first and only Serie A title with the Diavoli.

Thomas Helveg had joined the Nerazzurri from Milan nine years before, following the likes of Umit Davala, Francesco Coco, Andres Guglielminpietro, Paolo Ginestra and Drazen Brncic, who had all moved to the black and blue side of Milan between 2002 and 2001.

Giorgio Frezzolini (1999), Francesco Moriero (1997) and Fulvio Collovati (1982) also joined Inter from Milan during their playing careers.

Moriero, a former Italy international, never played for Milan, but formally joined the Nerazzurri from the Rossoneri.

In 1997, he signed a pre-contract agreement with the Diavoli, while Inter signed André Cruz. However, the Milanese clubs decided to swap the two players in the summer with the Nerazzurri who paid €1m for the curly winger.
