Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi was in Spain to speak directly with Girona striker Artem Dovbyk on Tuesday, and the Giallorossi official is set to speak with the player’s current employers on Wednesday.

Roma still negotiating with Girona for Dovbyk.

Ghisolfi flew directly to Spain on Tuesday to finalise the last few details of a permanent transfer for the Ukrainian striker.

The 27-year-old has reportedly given his approval to the proposed move to Roma, and has also rejected approaches from Atletico Madrid during this transfer window.

Roma have offered a fee of around €30m, plus €5m in bonuses to secure Dovbyk’s signature, but they have not yet reached a total agreement with Girona.

Girona, meanwhile, are seeking €35m plus bonuses. Intermediaries are still confident that the two parties can meet in the middle and close the deal for a fee around €32m, plus add-ons.
