According to reports in Italy, Napoli will meet Lorenzo Insigne’s agent at the beginning of August to discuss the captain’s contract extension.

The Italy star sees his contract expire in June 2022 and the two parties haven’t yet met to discuss a new deal at the Stadio Maradona.

According to several reports, Insigne wants a pay rise on his €5m-a-year salary, while Napoli would need their captain to take a pay cut to help the club keep the books balanced.

Tottenham and Barcelona have been linked with the 30-year-old who made his senior debut with the Parteopei in 2010.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Napoli could sell their captain for €30m this summer if he doesn’t agree to extend his stay at the club.
