Friday morning’s session at Inter’s Appiano Gentile training ground provided good news for coach Simone Inzaghi, who could welcome key senior players Marcus Thuram, Hakan Calhanoglu and Francesco Acerbi back into the fold in the coming weeks.
According to reports from Calciomercato.com, Thuram and Acerbi are the two Inter players closest to a return to action. Calhanoglu, however, is not too far behind them.
As it stands, Thuram and Acerbi could return to group training with the rest of the Nerazzurri squad on Saturday, which would be two days off their next Serie A game, against Genoa on Monday evening.
The Genoa match is the target for Thuram and Acerbi to return to the squad, although it is understood than no risks will be taken unnecessarily.
Davide Frattesi should also be available to Inzaghi for Monday night’s game against the Rossoblu following his minor injury scare in the last game against Atalanta.
Calhanoglu’s condition is also improving according to Friday’s update. Genoa will be one game too soon for the 30-year-old, but if all goes well, he could be in line to return for the game away at Bologna next Saturday.
