FIGC President Gabriele Gravina is due to address the media at a press conference from Italy’s training base in Iselhorn, Germany on Sunday following the Azzurri’s elimination from EURO 2024 on Saturday evening.
Italy were knocked out of the competition at the round of 16 stage following a miserable 2-0 defeat to Switzerland in Berlin.
When Gravina will speak after Italy EURO 2024 exit
Reports on Sunday morning indicate that Gravina will speak to the press on his own in order to share his thoughts about Italy’s run at EURO 2024. He is due to sit down in front of the press at 12.30 local time on Monday afternoon (11.30 BST).
Calciomercato.com confirm that the FIGC Presidential elections will be held in March 2025 and suggest that Gravina’s long-term future in the role is not necessarily guaranteed.
The Italian outlet also hint that Spalletti’s long-term future as CT of the national team is also not particularly secure following Italy’s early exit this summer. The coach is currently under contract until the summer of 2026 on a contract worth a reported €3m per season in wages.
