Milan veteran Oliver Giroud’s goal put France into the World Cup semi-finals against Morocco, where he’ll face a former teammate in coach Walid Regragui.

The 36-year-old Rossoneri forward has been a key figure for Didier Deschamps’ squad in Qatar, scoring four goals in four games at the tournament. Giroud has been an important player for Milan this season and he’s continuing to show his class and longevity as he plays a leading role for Les Bleus.

As highlighted by Get French Football News, Giroud will face off against a former teammate of his in France’s World Cup semi-final clash with Morocco, their coach Regragui.

The pair worked together at Grenoble for two months in the summer of 2008 and spent 45 minutes on the pitch together in a pre-season friendly against Strasbourg.

In September 2008, Giroud left Grenoble for Tours in a deal worth around €150,000, and Regragui finished the season with the Ligue 1 outfit before ending his playing career with Moroccan outfit Moghreb Atletico Tetouan.
