Gleison Bremer is on the verge of signing for Juventus after they agreed a €50m total deal with Torino.
The 25-year-old Brazilian centre back was one of the best defenders in Serie A last season and a move to a top club this summer looked obvious, although many expected him to join the long-interested Inter. The Nerazzurri focused on other targets instead and failed to finalise a deal for Bremer, allowing Juventus to enter the fray after they agreed to sell Matthijs de Ligt to Bayern Munich.
As detailed by TMW, Bremer is expected to return to Turin later this evening ahead of the usual pre-transfer medicals with Juventus tomorrow. Assuming everything goes well, he’ll put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Bianconeri. Juventus will pay Torino €41m plus €9m in add-ons for the player.
The 25-year-old Brazilian seems to be the perfect replacement for De Ligt and Juventus have managed the situation incredibly well, in stark contrast to Inter, who also lost out on Paulo Dybala this week.
Replacing an Inter bound Torino player is no easy task (unless it was all about money for Bremer in the end). A masterstroke from Juve management nevertheless! Bremer impressed me most defensively especially when he played against us. He is so focused on his core duties as a centre back – the combination of his pace and strength was excellent. To see him alongside rather than in place of De Ligt would have been the dream but we could have done much worse. I’d only be relieved once the full backs issue is addressed.

Interman, hard to refuse 10M more cash, that’s 25% more than what Inter is offering, right? (30v40M if I am not mistaken). Torino obviously would prefer selling to Inter but their hands are tied here, considering Bremer has a clause that enables him to leave for 15M next January. So, 40M now is already a good deal, considering Bremer was valued at 25M before he extended last season.
