Franck Ribery is preparing for a meeting with Salernitana this week where he’ll discuss his future plans after hanging up his boots.

The 39-year-old French winger is expected to hang up his boots in the coming days due to a recurring knee problem, which has kept him sidelined for the majority of this season so far. Ribery only played 36 minutes of Salernitana’s league opener against Roma and has been absent since, leaving him frustrated.

As highlighted by TuttoSalernitana, Ribery is set to meet Salernitana’s management this week to discuss his future plans once his retirement is made official. The initial topic will be on if he’ll move into the club’s backroom immediately or take a period away, and if he stays then what role he’ll take on.

There are many options for the Frenchman, from coaching to scouting to being a general manager at the club, all of which will be discussed in the meeting. In the meantime, Salernitana are considering setting up a farewell match for the 39-year-old featuring various players who’ve featured alongside him during his career.
