What Spalletti said about Bellingham after England’s second goal against Italy

Italy boss Luciano Spalletti was impressed by Jude Bellingham’s assist for Marcus Rashford and refused to blame his players after England’s second goal against the Azzurri.

Rashford’s goal gave England the lead at minute 57 at Wembley Stadium in a Euro 2024 qualifying fixture. It was inspired by Bellingham who regained possession with a sliding tackle, flicked it past an Italy midfielder and passed it to the Manchester United striker who beat Gigio Donnarumma at the far post.

As reported by RAI’s pitchside reporter at Wembley, Spalletti was so impressed by Bellingham’s move that he told his assistant Marco Domenichini: ‘There isn’t much you can do with stuff like this.’

Italy had taken the lead in the first half with a stunning team goal scored by Gianluca Scamacca who found the net at a senior level with Italy for the first time.

Harry Kane equalised before the break, converting a penalty kick, earned by Bellingham.
