What Mourinho told Inter fans about anti-Lukaku whistles

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, José Mourinho crossed paths with some Inter fans after Sunday’s game against the Nerazzurri and sarcastically asked them if they had a whistle to give him.

The Special One was suspended for Roma‘s eventual 1-0 loss against Inter on Sunday, so he watched the match from the press box at San Siro.

It was a tough game for Roma striker Romelu Lukaku, who returned to the Stadio Meazza for the first time as an Inter opponent.

Inter fans welcomed him with 40,000 whistles to make sure the Belgian knew their feelings and apparently, the hostile reception paid off as Lukaku was named the worst player on the pitch by Italian sports papers.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Mourinho had a sarcastic reaction to the anti-Lukaku whistles brought to San Siro by Inter supporters, which, on paper, had been banned by local authorities in Milan.

According to the report, the Portuguese coach met some Inter supporters outside the stadium after the game and asked them: ‘Do you have one for me too?’

Mourinho was also critical of the referee after the match, saying Fabio Maresca ‘targeted’ yellow cards and lacked respect towards his players.
