Both Manchester United and Bayern Munich are ready to pay Kim’s release clause, but multiple sources claim the Bavarians are leading the race for the Napoli defender, so the Red Devils must raise their salary offer.

Kim is expected to leave Napoli next month. His clause is valid only for clubs outside Serie A in the first two weeks of July. It’s worth at least €50m, although the exact amount depends on the revenues of the club activating it. It would be in the region of €60m for Bayern and Man United.

Multiple reports in Italy claim the Bavarians are now ahead of the Premier League giants in the race for the highly-rated South Korea international.

According to Gazzetta, Bayern have offered more money to the player. Therefore, the Red Devils are still not out of the race but must raise their contract offer to beat the Germans.

Kim joined Napoli from Fenerbache for just €18m last summer and was one of the stars inspiring the Partenopei’s first Serie A title victory in 33 years.
