According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Romelu Lukaku called Inter coach Simone Inzaghi in April to confirm that he wanted to return to the club.

The Belgium international is pushing to return to the Stadio Meazza and Inter are expected to finalise a loan move from Chelsea today.

Beppe Marotta has confirmed that Inter are in advanced talks with the Blues but won’t announce the deal today. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Lukaku is so keen on returning to the Stadio Meazza that he called Simone Inzaghi two months ago.

Inter legend Bergomi reveals Inzaghi’s stance on Lukaku’s return

“What could I do for Inter? I’d like to return,” Lukaku reportedly told Inzaghi on the day of his birthday on April 5.

It is no secret that the coach would welcome Lukaku with open arms. The Nerazzurri legend Beppe Bergomi revealed last week that Inzaghi had told him that he’s never coached a striker as strong as the Belgian.

The former Lazio boss and ‘Big Rom’ worked together for a week last summer before Lukaku asked to return to Chelsea.

  1. Wow coached him for a FULL week??!! That’s amazing. That’s enough to know that Lukaku’s just following the money. Next year will be psg to pair him with Mbappe. Hope all the inter merda fans take him with open arms

  2. AS A DIE-HARD INTER FAN. MY THOUGHTS OVER HIS RETURN IS A BIG NO. HE COULD BE LIKEN TO A WIFE WHO LEFT HER HUSBAND IN TIMES OF TROUBLE BUT WILLING TO RETURN WHEN THE JOURNEY WENT SOUR.
