New Barcelona signing Franck Kessié reveals what Zlatan Ibrahimovic told him following his free transfer to Barcelona.
The Ivory Coast international was unveiled by the Catalans on Wednesday. During his first press conference with the club, Kessié revealed what Ibrahimovic had told him about his transfer to the Nou Camp.
“He gave me some advice, he told me that it’s a beautiful city and a great team. He said: ‘Look, work hard and do exactly what you are doing here at Milan, give everything and try to go as far as possible at the club,” the ex-Rossoneri star said.
Kessié has joined the La Liga giants on a free transfer after his contract with the Diavoli expired.
Ibrahimovic spent one season at Barcelona, scoring 22 goals in 46 appearances at the Nou Camp. He had joined the Catalans from Inter in a swap deal involving Samuel Eto’o and the Nerazzurri completed the treble the following season, winning their first Champions League in 44 years.
Ibrahimovic struggled to come to terms with Pep Guardiola at Barcelona, so he returned to Italy the following year, joining Milan on a permanent deal.
The Swede returned to the Stadio Meazza in January 2020 and will soon sign a new contract until June 2023.
