Italy international Guglielmo Vicario hits back at Newcastle striker Callum Wilson who had accused the Tottenham keeper of ‘lack of respect.’

Vicario and Wilson exchanged barbs during and after Tottenham’s 4-1 win over Newcastle on Sunday. The Italian goalkeeper taunted his opponent on the pitch by sticking his tongue out at the English striker after a save but the dispute continued after the final whistle.

Wilson openly blamed the Italy international during a post-match interview with Sky Sports UK accusing the ex-Empoli goalkeeper of ‘lack of respect.’

Vicario’s reply came through social media, precisely with an Instagram story.

The Italy international published a picture of his argument with Wilson after the final whistle alongside the striker’s quotes from his Sky Sports interview.

Vicario replied by writing: ‘Respect is given to everyone that respects me!’

Vicario, 27, has conceded 23 goals in 16 Premier League games with Spurs this season, keeping four clean sheets.

He moved to North London from Empoli last summer in a €20m deal.
