Scotland international McTominay broke the deadlock at minute 18 with a powerful shot from the edge of the box.

The former Manchester United star moved into an open space in central midfield, receiving a perfect through ball from Lukaku. The Empoli defence gave McTominay way too much space and time, and the Scotland international made wise use of them, running towards the box and finding the net with a vigorous attempt.

As reported by the DAZN pitchside reporter, Conte was so impressed by Lukaku’s pass that he shouted to the Belgian striker: “That goal is yours!”

The Belgian has now provided nine assists in Serie A this season, while McTominay scored his seventh league goal.
