Alessandro Bastoni and Brahim Diaz had a heated confrontation in the first half of the Champions League semi-final first leg at San Siro, with the Nerazzurri defender repeatedly shouting ‘What the f*** are you doing?’ in his opponent’s face.

It is a historic night at San Siro, with Inter and Milan meeting on European soil for the first time since 2005.

The Nerazzurri dominated the first half seeing Edin Dzeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan score in the opening 11 minutes.

There was tension between Bastoni and Brahim after Inter’s second goal with the Spaniard failing to keep the ball in play and pushing the Azzurri defender when the ball had already crossed the line.

It promoted an instant reaction from Bastoni, who pushed back and repeatedly shouted ‘What the f*** are you doing?’

The pair cleared the air after the intervention of referee Jesús Gil Manzano.

There were more confrontations later in the first half, especially when VAR revoked an Inter penalty, urging Milan players to demand a yellow card for Lautaro Martinez for diving.
