OWNIC is launching a unique platform where you can trade collectible sports cards that are linked to how athletes perform in their career.

Using dynamic NFT (dNFT) technology, the on and off-pitch achievements of footballers from Serie A and beyond increase the strength of the digital collectibles through Prima Power (xP). This rewards your scouting abilities, as you spot emerging talent early and compete against other collectors in OWNIC’s games and utilities.

The dNFTs are all officially licensed by players such as Italy and Juventus captain Leonardo Bonucci and Lazio and Azzurri star Manuel Lazzari, while the data used for the trading cards is supplied by Wyscout. The data allows OWNIC to categorise athletes into numerous different card types, and this is what we’re going to look at here.

Check out the Discord server for more information on OWNIC and its Wyscout partnership.

What are the card types?

Every player is assigned a card type based on OWNIC’s proprietary data algorithm, which has been developed in conjunction with Wyscout. The data analysis is used to rate players across 26 performance metrics, covering things like shooting ability, dribbling, passing, tackling and interceptions. Those metrics are then condensed down into the four categories you’ll see on the dNFT cards: creativity, determination, intelligence and awareness.

As well as the performance data, players are also assigned to an age group from under-20 to 33 and up. They are also categorised according to their nationality and the country in which they currently play.

All three of these aspects determine a player’s card type. There are 23 card types in total, coming under five different categories. Those five categories are Special, Dream, Destiny, Challenge and Chance.

The Special Edition cards are the top tier of collectible and accrue xP the fastest. The types of cards within this category include:

Tournament Cards

These are awarded on the back of a strong performance in a major international or continental competition, and can only be issued once per season.

Victory Cards

This card marks a significant victory in a big game, with a player only able to have two of these issued during a season.

Signature Cards

As the name suggest, these cards bear the digital signature of the player, with only one issue available through the season.

Olimpia Cards

Also seeing only one issue is the Olimpia card, which commemorates a player winning a trophy.

Jubilee Cards

This is a card that celebrates the individuality of a player and their contribution to the game.

Genesis Cards

This one-of-a-kind card is issued once a season and has the highest Rarity coefficient.

Classic Cards

This card is for retired players who’ve left a significant impact on the game.

What is Rarity and coefficient?

OWNIC dNFT Rarity is determined solely by the collectible’s card type. Only a certain number of each card can be issued. If you manage to get your hands on a Genesis card, you’ll have 1/1 with a coefficient of 1.5. Getting an Olimpia will give you 1/10 with 1.45, while it’s 1/100 and 1.4 for a Jubilee card and so on. Eleven and Squad cards are least rare at 1/1000 with a coefficient of 1.

Coefficient is important because this is the number that’s used to multiply the points a player gets through their achievements by, and this is what generates xP. This in turn is crucial because the more xP your cards generate, the more valuable they become both in OWNIC’s games and utilities, and in a monetary sense if you want to sell your card.
