Milan have entered discussions with Udinese for sought-after midfielder Lazar Samardzic, but there was one aspect of the Rossoneri’s approach that reportedly frustrated the Friulian club.

Udinese frustrated by Milan approach for Samardzic

Technical director Gianluca Nani confirmed on Tuesday that there has been interest from Milan in Samardzic, although a formal offer has not yet been tabled.

However, according to updates from Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan contacted Samardzic first, before getting in touch with Udinese, which left the club feeling slightly frustrated.

Nani, meanwhile, remains adamant that Udinese do not want to sell the player, but confirmed that the club will listen to reasonable offers this summer should they come in.

“He is a Udinese player who we don’t want to sell because he is important,” Nani told Sky Sport Italia on Tuesday.

“Obviously, if we receive an adequate proposal, it’s part of our job to evaluate it with the footballer and entourage and the team interested. Samardzic is not a player we are offering to other clubs because we think he is important.”

Reports earlier on Tuesday suggested that Milan are prepared to lodge an initial offer of €15m, while Udinese are confident of fetching over €20m. Di Marzio specifies that the asking price currently stands at €25m.

  1. You approach first the player to see if there is an interest to go to your club. It is common sense and business as usual
