Neither Inter nor Liverpool fans are happy with the second Champions League draw and there have been plenty of reactions on social media.

Simone Inzaghi’s side had got Ajax in the first draw, which was cancelled due to a ‘technical problem with the software of an external service provider.’

They were way unluckier in the second draw as they got Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, one of the best clubs in Europe.

The Nerazzurri will play the first leg without Nicolò Barella who was sent off in the last  group stage game against Real Madrid. The Serie A champions will hope the Italy international doesn’t get a two-match ban, so he can at least play the return leg at Anfield Road.

Inter reacted with irony on social media to the cancelled Champions League draw.

“Travel guide for Amsterdam for sale. No time wasters,” they wrote.

After the second draw, they shared the same tweet again, tagging Benfica who will face the Lancers.

Some Inter fans also used irony to comment on the draw, while others were not in the mood for jokes.

Fair to say Liverpool fans were also disappointed to get the Nerazzurri.

At some point, they thought they could be drawn against Villareal, but the La Liga side got Juventus instead. Why?

Because if they got Villareal, Inter’s only options would have been Juventus or Real Madrid. The Bianconeri are from the same country, while Madrid were in their group, so the Nerazzurri could not meet either clubs.

  1. what? this is a best possible draw for Inter.. this game is liverpool to lose, not Inter.. let’s go boyz! give them fiercest battle they ever face from Italian side

  2. I like the spirit of you Inter fans. Yeah that Liverpool that is just some sunday league village team who have only won the CL 5 times and done more in 5 years then you have done in the last 10.

  3. @Luca they have not, only Manchester United. But Liverpool is a much more historic club and they would never steal, hire or try to get Utd players and directors to make them relevant. Non desperate clubs have something called pride. I knew the Inter fans would be quick to already belittle the Reds. Going to be fun if they batter Inter. I hope they show no mercy.

  4. I remember very well our last meeting when Torres and Gerrard were playing there and beat us at Anfield. that night Mancio lost his head and said he is leaving at the end of the season
    But still,
I don’t understand those who are crying over the draw.
You play UCL to play against strong teams, not to hide behind a win against weak sides. what is the glory of the “Champions League” vs rather unknown teams?
I mean, yes, winning an easier side would boost the team for the next round but again who said Inter will win against Ajax?
You won’t have Ajax, Villareal, Lille all the way to the Final. so get prepared for some real games and act like the *Champion* of Italy.

  5. Ajax would have been tough as well they went 6-0 and smoked Dortmund to. Liverpool will be hard to get past tho let’s hope for a close encounter

  6. Inter will get utterly destroyed. Liverpool’s game is too fast for any serie a team and their high pressing on the ballholder in their opponents half is something Italian teams really hate, we have seen many times in the past.

Inter are the best serie a team, despite losing 3 superstars in Lukaku, hakimi and Eriksen. But the the difference in player quality is simply too big, they would need a miracle to go through.

It’s probably around 85-15 in pools favour.

  7. Reinforcements for sure. I just got 5 pallets of huggies ultra soft delivered to my door. I do not know what to do with them as I was saving them for Rube games. Now that I’m an Interista it looks like I will selling them on ebay.
