“Although the player expressed a desire to continue working together there was no longer the trust necessary for a healthy professional relationship. We thank the player for his time spent with WSA and wish him all the best for his future.”

Scamacca joined West Ham from Sassuolo in a €36m deal last summer and has scored seven goals in 24 appearances across all competitions this season.

His contract with the Hammers expires in June 2027, but the Premier League side have an option to extend his stay at the club for one more season.

The 24-year-old made his senior Italy debut under Roberto Mancini in September 2021 but hasn’t yet found the net in nine appearances with the Azzurri.

He is currently dealing with a knee problem which has forced him to the sidelines in the last five Premier League matches. Scamacca made his last appearance with West Ham on January 14 coming off the bench in an away 1-0 loss against Wolves.
