Napoli are willing to sell Hirving Lozano this summer and they’ve held concrete talks with West Ham recently.

The Premier League side are looking to strengthen their attack this summer in order to continue their development under David Moyes. A number of targets have been linked with West Ham, like Chelsea’s Armando Broja and Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca. Despite all the noise, however, no forward has arrived yet.

As reported by TMW, Lozano could be sold by Napoli this summer and they’ve held talks with a number of clubs, with West Ham’s interest being the most serious.

The major obstacle for the Hammers, however, is the Mexican’s high wages; the former PSV man earns around €5m net per season plus add-ons, and a deal with Napoli would cost at least €20m, making the operation fairly expensive.

With West Ham desperate to sign a new forward, updates are expected in the coming weeks.

Last season, the 26-year-old Lozano scored five goals and provided six assists in 30 Serie A appearances.

4 thought on “West Ham negotiating Lozano deal with Napoli – report”
  1. Give this guy one more year and hopefully he steps up and starts playing and being as good as he thinks he can. Then napoli will make out better on the return. And If he’s still average then goodbye bc not worth the money. Napoli forever no matter what.

  2. Insigne, Mertens and Koulibaly I understood. But Chucky? It’s true he’s underperformed, but I attribute that to 1. injuries, 2. coaches preferring other players, 3. being played out of position as he’s technically a LW and not a RW. This one also relates to point 2 (Insigne being the undisputed starter at LW). So if Napoli sell Lozano it’s well and truly a sign that they’re packing it in. Throw in a probably departure of Fabian Ruiz and this is now a squad that will struggle to qualify for the EL, nevermind CL. I guess it’s truly the end of a cycle…
