West Ham United have reportedly made a formal €40m offer for Gianluca Scamacca, but the Sassuolo asking price remains €50m with Paris Saint-Germain also interested.

According to Sky Sports UK, the Premier League side have now made the official bid at €40m – circa £34m.

There could be some add-ons on top of that, especially as the Italian reports over the last few days had seen the Hammers proposing €47m including the various performance-related bonuses.

With that in mind, they could be very close indeed to reaching an agreement with Sassuolo.

Paris Saint-Germain have made it clear they are interested in the Italy international centre-forward, but are not prepared to go above €30m plus bonuses.

The 23-year-old scored 16 goals in 36 Serie A appearances for Sassuolo last season, earning him his first senior Italy caps.

He is well-travelled, very tall at 1.95m and only recently signed a new contract until June 2026.

Scamacca spent time in the Lazio, Roma and PSV Eindhoven youth academies before joining Sassuolo in 2017.
