Fernando Llorente’s move to Sevilla has caused Simone Zaza’s move to the Hammers to fall through, but Gianluca Di Marzio’s website believes attention has now turned to Matri.

The site reports that the English side are in pole position for the 31-year-old, with Milan’s joint-CEO Adriano Galliani currently at Milanello trying to convince Matri to move.

The forward joined the Diavolo for €11m from Juventus in 2013, but scored just once in 18 games before being shipped out on loan to Fiorentina.

Matri then moved to Genoa last summer, scoring seven goals in 16 games during his loan spell before returning to Juventus, where he scored the winner against Lazio in the Coppa Italia final.
