Boulaye Dia has impressed since joining Salernitana on loan and the Campania outfit are planning to activate his buy option amidst interest from West Ham and Everton.

The 26-year-old Senegalese forward joined the Granata on a loan deal with a €12m buy option last summer from Villarreal, adding a much-needed goal scorer to the squad.

Dia has done well in his debut season in Italy, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists across 24 league games, being one of the few bright spots of the season for Salernitana.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Salernitana plan to activate the €12m buy option attached to Dia’s loan deal in the summer, but are unlikely to retain him for next season as West Ham and Everton set their sights on the striker.

The Granata are hoping to secure around €20m from the 26-year-old’s sale, representing a quick profit for the Campania side.

Dia appeared in all four of Senegal’s games at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, scoring in a group stage win over the hosts.
