Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger confirms Alexandre Lacazette won’t be fit to face Milan tomorrow.

The Gunners hold a 2-0 lead in the Europa League Last 16 tie, so they’re heavy favourites to progress at the Emirates tomorrow.

“Some players had tests this morning and everyone is available except Lacazette,” Wenger confirmed in his pre-match Press conference.

“He is back in training soon. I think he’ll return after the international break, he’s on the right track.

“He is back in training soon. I think he’ll return after the international break, he’s on the right track.

“Tomorrow’s team? It is never easy for me when I have to leave top players out. You pick the best team to win the next game.

“I want to be in the Champions League. The Europa League is very strong this year. Look at Milan, [Borussia] Dortmund and Atletico Madrid, there are many good French teams.

“This competition is at a higher level than ever. Anything can run against you we just have to produce a performance that is expected from us.

“The competition is very tight.

“Our form? Consistency is a sign of quality. Sometimes when you have a negative spell it is hard to get out, that‘s why it was important to get out of it.”

Jack Wilshere is out of contract at the end of the season, and both Milan and Juventus have been linked with the England midfielder.

“On my side nothing has changed,” Wenger shrugged.

“[As things stand] Jack will be free at the end of the season. We made a proposal to him, I want him to stay and be linked with the club in the future.

“That is my desire and I hope he will do it.

“I hope he can get into the England squad, the vibes I get are positive.

“I have to leave it to Gareth Southgate I have enough to do with my job.”
