Matej Vydra has impressed while on loan at Watford and Francesco Guidolin assures he’ll have a bright future at parent club Udinese.

The Czech striker struggled to find any playing time at the Stadio Friuli last season, but has exploded in the English Championship.

This term he has scored 20 goals in 29 games for Watford, providing eight assists, and earned transfer links with Arsenal and Tottenham.

However, Vydra is still owned by Udinese, whose patrons the Pozzo family also own Watford and are using it as a satellite club.

“I didn’t want him to leave, as I like him and wanted him to come to Udine,” explained Coach Guidolin.

“The club decided to send him out on loan and that’s fair enough, considering he is only 20 years old.

“I expected him to do so well in England.”
