Watford director of sport Cristiano Giaretta confirms ‘Italian, English, Spanish and German clubs are interested’ in Gerard Deulofeu, who is for sale at €20m.
The club was recently relegated from the Premier League and is therefore forced to change the transfer strategy to suit this new status.
“We want to get back into the Premier League and are ambitious. There will be some important sales, because some of our players are not at the Championship level and clearly relegation has changed things,” Giaretta told Radio Kiss Kiss.

Among those on the way out is former Milan winger Deulofeu, who has been mentioned as a Napoli target.
“Deulofeu has several clubs interested in him in Italy, Spain, England and also Germany, so we are evaluating everything. He is ready and can make the difference at any team.
“There’s a level of top players whose price-tag has not been affected by the pandemic and I believe he is one of those. Strong players remain strong, perhaps those at an inferior level will see their values drop.
“Deulofeu is a player who has to go on a permanent transfer rather than a loan.”
When asked if the asking price was circa €20m, Giaretta did not disagree.
“He remains an important player.”
