Torino are enraged following the decision not to award them a penalty after the contact between Andrea Belotti and Andrea Ranocchia in the match against Inter.

The Granata took an early lead in the game, with Gleison Bremer striking home the opener after just 12 minutes. In the 37th minute, Ranocchia threw in a clumsy foot to try and dispossess Belotti in the penalty area and he seemed to strike the Torino talisman’s foot  first, before knocking away the ball.

A brief talk with the Video Assistant Referee did not lead to an on-pitch review, leading many to question the work of referee Marco Guida and VAR lead Davide Massa.

Refereeing expert Luca Marelli was not impressed with the decision, saying “This is clearly a penalty. Referee Guida urges Belotti to get back up and points to the ball.

“However, seeing the footage, it is clear that Ranocchia only touched the ball after fouling Belotti. It is a clear penalty and I really expected an on-pitch review.”

  1. What a farce. Disgraceful call. Clearly man then ball.

Technology is there to help…why not use it correctly for the good of the game and transparency of the league?

  2. Italian referring is becoming a farce and a joke among their counterparts! Even tarnishing the credibility of the league! It’s better to watch cartoon than to waste time watching serie-A these days with this incompetent referring.

  3. Very possibly a foul inside the penalty area. Let’s see what authorities decide, then we can all shout a bit and call it a day, moving on as things happen in a season.

  4. @Andy Of course, you can have your opinion but that’s all it is because you discuss no evidence. Juve fans call out the absurdity and blatant hypocrisy of Inter fans, who only make noise when things don’t go their way. This was a stonewall penalty and so let them be silent.

  5. Maybe, just maybe, this latest incident that has favored Inter once again, will make Inter fans examine their conscience and admit what is clearly obvious to everyone else – Moratti continues to do his dirty work behind the scenes as he did in 2005-2006. HYPOCRITES!!!!!

  6. Not surprising as Italians just cannot run anything. No wonder their country is economically bankrupt, just not as bad as Greece. A farmers league with circus referees. I would not trust them running a bath and when you give them technology it is too much to handle. Juventus will get a top four place but they had better do their duty, bribe the ref now and make sure Agnelli is on the case personally, as the world is always a worse place when Inter wins anything.

  8. @Stevie – those farmer boys still managed to show Ingurland up in their own stadium LOL. Just remind us how many finals Ingurland has played in 150 years of international football. What was it? Oh yes, TWO and both at home. Meanwhile the ‘farmer boys’ have played 4 international finals in just the last 20 years.

  9. It’s obvious that there is some kind of foul play behind not giving this penalty. The world is for the first time ever in agreement, every TV expert slamming the decision not to give the penalty and every newspaper too.

Just as a reminder that AcMilan lost like a total of 6-7 points to refereeing errors this season alone. When so much goes against a team its hard not think its corruption, and finally you see the way referees try to give points to Inter. Time for a new calciopoli and a cleansing of the corrupt people in charge.

  10. @Francesco Ref Guida did not cost inter the game against Milan.
But I imagine that’s how it must feel when things for the first time turns sour. And the referee isn’t helping Inter what mad world is this. Clearly contact but for var to step in for a shoulder against shoulder tackle in the middle of the park, which then turns into a goal.. naaaah man c’mon .. I really hope you don’t believe that. If inter got that call against Milan there would be no need for any other team playing football, cause either way refs going to give it too Inter………

  11. Funny to see Milanisti cry foul after last season when their team was awarded a pk every round yet they still couldn’t win the title. And juventini, lol, no need to comment everyone knows who historically benefited from Italian refs.

  12. Mac you are so delusional it’s sad. Even former ref Mauro Bergonzi said that Guida should have whistled a foul for Sanchez. And how about the blatant elbow from Theo on Barella, 50-50 elbow to head? Fair challenge huh? In your rossoneri dream world may be.

  13. @Mac, again

Need I remind you that Inter had 4 penalties awarded against them this season and those decisions cost losing to Lazio and drawing with Napoli and juve. 7 points dropped in matches where officials awarded pks AGAINST Inter. Easy on the hilarously baseless conspiracy theories.

  14. Milan fans should not talk. Their club robbed us in Venice. Sakesmakers kicked our player, no red card. Florenzi got away with a clear shirt pull, yet Venezia were not awarded a penalty. Yet no one from AIA apologised to Venezia..like they did to their crying baby Milan after the Spezia match

  15. @Frankie

    Stop writing nonsense

Once again? In which games were Inter favoured this season? List them, then. If you can, with examples. I challenge you.

  16. @Frankie the comedian

Moratti hasn’t been part of Inter at all since 2016 yet juventini are still getting nightmares of him haha. Poor souls, you miss Moggi?

  17. @ Antonio

Venezia match for starters, which Inter never would’ve won if not by refs help. Dzeko with the most malicious elbow I’ve ever seen in my life and not even a foul or yellow card. They go on to score a goal on the same move lol

Inter fans trying to justify this are just hilarious. You clearly know what’s going on! You can’t be THAT blind but enjoy your corrupted points if you wish so.

  18. Steve, go and watch chess or Balett. Itali won against u island apes and keep sucking americas coccckk

  19. @Milan Fan

So that is all you got? The Venezia match?

The same Venezia that Milan robbed you mean? Did you miss the blatant kick of Salesmakers? Did you not see the penalty that should have been given against Florenzi? And you stole 3 points with 2 major calls going your way.

  20. @Milanfan

Roma were robbed twice by Milan this season

Kjaer foul at Olimpico, no pk given to Roma. And Tonali at San Siro pulling the shirt of Zaniolo. Yet you have the nerve to talk about corrupted points haha.

  21. @Milan Fan

Nice way to run away from an argument, by insulting. Enough admission you have nothing to respond by. Lack of argumentation.
