Thousand of Argentina fans turned up at Lautaro Martinez’s hometown in Argentina to celebrate the Seleccion’s World Cup victory.

The pictures were posted by the Inter striker on Instagram, showing a wild crowd greeting a proud El Toro holding his gold medal at the Teatro Municipal. It happened at Bahia Blanca, where Lautaro Martinez’s parents live.

“We are World Champions and I am happy to have shared this with you, thank you Bahia Blanca for so much affection,” wrote the Inter striker on Twitter.

  1. Always someone will make negative comment. Forza and vamos Lautaro! He was better than Alvarez at Coppa America.

  2. He’s neither overrated or a flop. Granted, he didn’t have a good World Cup. He seems off the pace, and maybe felt the pressure. But Lautaro is a fantastic player. silly comment.

  3. To be fair to Lautaro, he was horrendous for large parts of the tournament, but his FANTASTIC on target shot, late in extra time, led to Messi’s (short lived) go ahead goal.

I think he was VERY relieved that Argentina won the shootout right before he had to step up!
