Cristiano Ronaldo

Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo made history for Portugal against Hungary, becoming the first man to score at least 10 European Championship goals, quickly making it 11.

The veteran emphatically converted a penalty during the final minutes of the 3-0 victory in Budapest this evening, after Rafa Silva had been brought down by Willi Orban.

It took his total tally in the European Championships to 10, breaking away from France legend Michel Platini’s nine.

He then completed his brace in stoppages with a mazy run in the six-yard box, depositing into the net after shaking off the goalkeeper.

Alan Shearer is third in line with seven goals during the tournament.

This double also took Ronaldo two steps closer to the all-time international record set by Iranian Ali Daei of 109 strikes for his country.

CR7 is now up to 106 for Portugal, achieved in just 176 caps.
