Cristiano Ronaldo converted two penalties for Portugal against France, allowing him to equal Ali Daei’s all-time record of 109 international goals.

The Juventus star stepped up twice and kept his cool to beat Hugo Lloris from the spot in tonight’s Euro 2020 group game.

These were his 108th and 109th senior caps for Portugal, taking him level with the all-time international record of 109 by Iran legend Ali Daei.

It was his fifth goal in just three Euro 2020 games, having also found the net against Germany and Hungary.

Ronaldo took 178 caps to reach the 109 figure, compared to Daei’s 145 appearances for Iran.
