Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand met Cristiano Ronaldo’s sister and posted a cryptic message on Twitter, as the Portugal captain seems set for a Premier League return.
Manchester City have been linked with a move for Ronaldo in recent days, but SportItalia journalist Alfredo Pedulla and Sky Sport Italia journalist Fabrizio Romano claim Manchester United are officially in the race.
Ronaldo’s sister posted a photo of meeting Ferdinand yesterday, before the former England international added a cryptic message on Twitter.

Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said the Red Devils are in the race for Ronaldo and that midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been in contact with the player.
“I didn’t think Ronaldo was going to leave Juventus, speculation the last few days.
“We have always had good communication; Bruno has been talking to him. He knows how we feel about him, if he was ever going to move he knows we are here.”
