Andrea Pirlo’s son Nicolò shared a controversial message on social media after Juventus‘ draw against Udinese: ‘Had it happened last season…’

Pirlo was sacked by Juventus and replaced with Massimiliano Allegri after finish fourth in Serie A last season.

The Old Lady threw two points away in their season opener against Udinese yesterday as Luca Gotti’s side recovered from two goals down to pick up a point against the Bianconeri.

Andrea Pirlo’s son Nicolò, 18, appeared to aim a dig at both his father’s successor and Juventus fans sharing a controversial Instagram story which he later removed.

“Football is nice because it would have been only one person’s fault had Juventus suffered such a comeback last season,” the message read.

“However, that person is not there anymore.”

The message included a picture of Pirlo and the son of the former midfielder added clapping emoji.

Nicolò Pirlo removed the message after a few minutes, but he wasn’t quick enough to avoid its spread on social media.

Pirlo began his coaching career at Juventus last term and is now waiting for a new offer, either from Italy or abroad.

  1. pirlo`s season was an absolute disaster and a shameful part of Juventus history. keep making your father`s legacy even more damaged, kid. if he`s so great, you can ask him after he comes back from work…right??

  2. Problem with social media now a days. Of course the kid thinks he is protecting his father but doesn’t realize it does more harm then good.

  3. Last season, and all the financial problems Juve are going through are the managements fault. Agneli wants to spend more than he has. And while Pirlo was a fabulous player, and will probably be a fabulous coach one day, Who names someone coach of the number team one team in their first year? He and Nedved should be let go for letting Allegri go in the first place. And while I like Sarris style, who ever thought he would fit in with their self important organization. But don’t blame Pirlo for the problems they are having.

  4. You are talking history
Pirlo did everything he could but Juventus was disaster from management
    Smart people can analyze that.
Wait Juventus will go more down
    Is just beginning

  5. Part of coaching is taking the blame. Pirlo did a good job as a rookie coach, perhaps he should have started at a smaller club and worked his way up. Still a big fan of his, fantastic player. As for Juve they need help in the midfield. Hopeful that Lucatelli will help.

  6. I’ve said it before &
I’ll say it again juve have a great squad but they have the wrong coach,
Allegri has started early with his excuses after the draw saying the players where fatigued & that he’s not used to having 5 subs in a match,
just wait until CL starts you’ll see his full repritare of excuses,
Where has he been living for the last 2 years under a stone.
he has no idea how to motivate or how to play the modern game.
he is going to get a shock & realise there are some great coaches now in seria a

  7. i understand the kid is a teenager so he is full of emotions. but he is out of place. andrea pirlo should tell him this. criticism is a part of being a coach. fact of the matter is pirlo is not ready for top level job of juve. i think juve were forced into it because they fire sarri so abruptly. no one likes being fired, there is always bitterness. but i am sure when pirlo becomes an experience coach and looks back he would understand that he wasnt ready for a top job like juve. this little kid needs to know his place though. go do a tik tok or something.

  8. I am positive that Pirlo did not have advance notice of his son’s online post. What parent does?
That said, the kid is correct in his contention. I was one of the many lifelong Juventus fans who thought that Pirlo’s initial (and only, so far) season was a qualified success. He bailed management out of their own sinkhole by accepting the offer, then proceeded to steer a highly imperfect squad that had been assembled more for marketing than sporting objectives to a spot in the coming Champions League. He also bravely departed from the defensive style of play that the squad and the league is known for, and preached and taught attacking football. He achieved the UCL spot and should have been retained. At the season’s end, Juventus was playing with more panache and strength than they had shown over the previous 3 seasons.

  9. real problem is when a player deamnds To be benched just in case he gets an offer form another club, time to move on CR7 and let Juve go nack to players who bleed for the club not for the personal records

  10. I feel bad for Pirlo. I don’t think he was a disaster as a rookie coach, I think the management gave him the wrong pieces to work with and there were a bunch of injury problems. He was a work in progress, an investment for the future. Agnelli is too impatient because of how he wants to spend too much on the wrong players feeling it will have the right impact. It’s just a simple look at our books, high earning players that do not produce like Ramsey, Wojiech S., Rabiot, Alex Sandro… The plan to bring in Pirlo was to make a revolution, a rebuild on the squad, become younger. Where does that plan went? Down the hole. Paratici made too many mistakes. Agnelli made to many mistakes. I still stand firm on the case that this team needs a full rebuild. We need to become younger. Get rid of those high earner craps and start working more on what we have.
