Napoli star Victor Osimhen shared a message on social media after his return to action against Bologna last night.

The Nigeria international sustained a cheekbone injury against Inter at the end of November and was supposed to remain out of action for three months.

However, he was able to make a quick return, less than two months after his injury, wearing a protective mask.

Osimhen was introduced as a substitute in Napoli’s 2-0 win over Bologna last night and gifted his jersey to a Napoli fan at the Stadio Dall’Ara after the final whistle.

The 23-year-old also took to social media to express the joy of his return to action.

“Feels so good to be back,” wrote the striker.

“Solid performance from the boys. Onto the next one, GOD is the greatest. We move.”

Osimhen was supposed to play in the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria this month but tested positive before the beginning of the competition, so he was withdrawn from the squad list and returned to Naples at the beginning of January, once his swab test came back negative.

The 23-year-old has nine goals in 15 appearances across all competitions with the Partenopei this season.

  1. Fingers crossed he’ll manage to avoid these horrendous injuries! Bags of talent, just a tad more maturity and he can be up there.

  2. Bury, I agree with you! Osimhen’s enthusiasm get the better of his judgement sometimes. He needs to learn to play more responsibly; then he’ll practically be unstoppable.
