Juventus striker Alvaro Morata saw his penalty parried by the Slovakia goalkeeper, the fifth consecutive spot-kick Spain have failed to convert.
The forward had already been lambasted by fans and the media due to recent performances, as Spain drew both Euro 2020 games against Sweden and Poland.
When Koke was brought down, Morata stepped up to the spot, but saw his penalty saved by Martin Dubravka.
Incredibly, that was the fifth penalty in a row that Spain have failed to convert, after two by Sergio Ramos, then Abel Ruiz, before Gerard Moreno fired one against the upright during this tournament.
