The 33-year-old Italian striker started the match and was replaced by Pedro in the 68th minute of the match, having failed to make a significant impact against Sassuolo, being limited to just one shot.
Immobile has struggled with minor injuries for the entirety of this season and was involved in a car crash in the streets of Rome last month, an incident that left him with an arm injury, a fractured rib and whiplash.
After being replaced by Sarri, the television cameras caught Immobile and his furious reaction on the bench, clearly showing his frustration with the decision.
