On this day in 2009, Federico Macheda scored an incredible goal to mark off the perfect Manchester United debut.

The Italian forward joined the Red Devils in 2007 after leaving Lazio. He impressed in the youth system and was handed his first team debut on April 5 2009 in a match against Aston Villa. He came on as a substitute in the second half and scored a beautiful winner in injury time.

Despite his shining start, Macheda never became a first team regular at Manchester United and would move on to Cardiff City in 2014.
