Wanda Nara has insisted she is a ‘revolutionary’ in football and that Mauro Icardi is ‘the first to believe in me’ amidst the ploys to ‘destabilise’ her.

Many have pointed the finger at Wanda for breaking Icardi’s relationship with Inter after he was stripped of the captaincy, leading to his exclusion from the first team.

However, his agent-wife told Gente: “The truth is that Mauro has two more years left on his contract with Inter and we’re super happy here.

“We’re looking at how we can move forward and things will certainly be resolved in the best way for Inter and Mauro. There are changes at the club, a new director [Beppe Marotta]…

Milan is like my second home and all my children are Italian. The only one born in Argentina is Valentino, but we came here soon after.

“There’s a lot of talk about whether we’ll move or not, but perhaps the Press are the ones who are pressing the most…

“I’ve always said that being Mauro’s representative is easy because he’s a very important player in Europe. Everything that revolves around you has to talk.

“This is a very macho world and what I’m doing is revolutionary. Although there are many relatives who represent players, the role of women in football is more linked to ‘staying at home with the kids and keeping quiet’.

“That’s why I’m a revolutionary. I have friends who are wives of players and many laugh at me.

“They see that what I’m doing is strange, but they’ve asked me to represent their husbands because they know me, they know how I act and defend my interests.

“There is no crisis with Mauro, nor was there one. The stories that have come out are fantasy and very little to do with real life. We’re really happy together.

“It’s very difficult to be a woman in this macho world, but I have people who respect me. Some people have made things up to destabilise me. They’ve got very far.

“Mauro gives me courage. He isn’t the macho type and he’s the first to believe in me. I’d would never speak ill of any relative.

“There are things that happen in families, but things must be kept behind closed doors. I don’t have a problem with anyone.

“I love my husband and his whole family. In fact, my father-in-law is staying with us. There was nothing [in me burning a photo of us].

“But like everything else, people invented things and made a circus of it… It was a way to see the 1,000 things they’d make up.

“I have children who read. And obviously they have friends. Sometimes the inventions have been serious. I had to prepare my children.

“I’ve prepared them for evil and envy. They know me more than anyone, we’re together 24 hours a day.

“It’s easy to talk or be critical from a distance. They’re happy. They’re healthy, educated… and they’re good children.

“That’s the only important thing for me. I teach them the values of work, of respect… I could live without work, but I choose to do it and contribute to my family.

“I work for the most successful TV programme about football, I'm an influencer, a businesswoman who has offices in Milan…

“My love with Mauro is for life… I’ve always earned my money, I’m independent. I’m not with Mauro for anything else.

“For this love to exist, we obviously base our relationship on the respect we have for each other. I’ve put my trust in him and vice versa.”

Wanda was then asked about reports of an affair with Icardi’s teammate Marcelo Brozovic and how she would describe herself.

“I don’t know him, I’ve never seen him…” she added.

“Plus my husband is Mauro Icardi. I don’t know if I should explain myself… I’m a mother, woman, friend, entrepreneur, worker, loyal, humble, fun, sincere, direct… a good person.”
